Accelerated Reader (AR) is a tool designed to encourage and develop our students to be better readers. Participating in AR is easy and fun! AR assesses student comprehension of books they have read using an online program. For each book quiz a student pass, they will earn word counts read. Each month students are recognized according to the word count benchmark below. The word counts build on each other month to month until the end of March. 

Students will be celebrated monthly and are recognized on Smoke Rise Live, our school's morning broadcast. Students who meet the minimum semester word count benchmark will also be invited to a celebration at the end of the semester.

Renaissance Learning has a tool called Home Connect that allows a parent/guardian to view information about your child's progress. It also allows you to sign up to receive email notifications after your child completes an activity or assessment at school. Click on the AR Home Connect icon below to check it out. You should have received a Home Connect letter at the beginning of the school year with the student's unique AR log in information.
