Smoke Rise Elementary recognizes that birthdays are special. Birthdays may be celebrated during the regularly scheduled lunch time with store bought cupcakes. No birthday party decorations (balloons, flowers, etc.). We must make sure celebrations/parties do not disrupt our instructional time or affect the safety and health of our students. Summer birthdays will be recognized before the end of the school year. Invitations to private parties should be mailed rather than distributed at school.
Celebrating your child’s birthday at SRES:
- You are welcome to have lunch with your child and bring lunch to your child only (special treat or special lunch).
- You are welcome to bring in store bought cupcakes.
- You are welcome to bring one additional guest to celebrate with your child.
SRES does not celebrate birthdays with the following:
- Balloons
- Homemade food items
- Cake, ice cream, popsicle’s, etc.
SRES politely ask that you do not request staff to make an exception for your child. Doing so for your child means we must do so for all, and that contradicts the purpose of our birthday procedures.
